This month we're going to explore what it means to live a joyful life and what might be getting in our way. Joy, happiness, gratitude, and enthusiasm for life is a choice. Fear, resentment, jealousy, and a negative outlook on life are also choices we make. While we can't always control what's going on around us, we can control our thoughts, reactions, and focus. Let's dive in and look at how we can shift our perspectives, take control of our self-talk and thoughts, and choose JOY!
JUNE CHALLENGE: MAKE YOUR JOY LIST
Joy is a choice. And it is a choice we need to make over and over, especially when things go sideways in our lives. This month your homework challenge is to make your own Joy List and choose JOY when things don't go according to plan (or something happens that down right sucks).
Make a list of things that bring you Joy. It can be something as simple as giggling to pictures of animals in sunglasses (like in this month's Mantra Image) or as involved as going for a hike in nature, and beyond.
Once you have your Joy List keep it on hand for when things run amok in your day this month. When the negative self-talk or emotions pop up, hit pause as soon as you are able, and choose something from your Joy List that will snap you out of your funk and bring you back into Joy.
(Once you're in Joy, you can sort out the issue from a vastly different perspective)
